Amb Leilani Bin-Juda

Leilani Bin-Juda PSM is an accomplished Australian public servant and diplomat, currently serving as Australia’s High Commissioner to Nigeria. Appointed in November 2023, her diplomatic responsibilities also extend to Benin, Cameroon, Niger, The Gambia, and Gabon.

Ms. Bin-Juda’s career spans over two decades in the Australian Public Service, with extensive experience in international relations, health, fisheries, crime prevention, and the arts and cultural industry. She has held various positions within the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), including Director at the Diplomatic Academy and postings in China, Papua New Guinea, and the Solomon Islands.

Of Torres Strait Islander heritage, Ms. Bin-Juda has been a strong advocate for Indigenous participation in cultural and foreign policy. She has contributed significantly to promoting the inclusion of Indigenous heritage in Australia’s cultural and foreign policies, earning her the Public Service Medal in 2019.
